BBW Erotica “Chick Lit” Anthology Contest
Draumr Publishing is announcing the first contest for published or unpublished
authors interested in participating in an anthology. We are looking to bring new
writers into our family, and an anthology is a particularly good way for authors
to get to know us as a publisher, as well as a great way for readers to discover
new authors.
- Stories must feature a plus-size heroine (BBW, full-figured, etc) and
she must get her man (in many ways, if possible) without losing weight.
Heroine’s weight can be an issue, but should not be the focus of the story.
- Stories must be contemporary in setting
- Stories must be between 20-30,000 words (you may use your word
processor’s word count feature for this)
- Stories should be “happily ever after” but don’t need to end
conclusively (as in they don’t need to get married or solve all their
problems)
-
Heat level is 5 smooches (based on Draumr’s Sensuality Levels: Five smooches
means sex happens fairly often in the story and/or includes much detail and
coarse descriptive language – coarse language not required)
- No pornography nor any work featuring sex with minors and/or animals
- Must have a romantic element – this anthology is bordering on the side of
“Chick Lit”
- The “theme” of this anthology is the four seasons, so feel free to send in
multiple submissions for the different seasons
- Winners may be offered our standard anthology contract*, which is a five
year contract for both print and ebook formats, royalties paid twice a year, no
advance
- Book will be released Spring 2009
- For those stories not chosen, we will offer editor’s/evaluator’s comments to
encourage authors to grow their work
When in doubt, ask! Contact Rida
with any and all questions. Additionally, you may visit our forums (http://www.draumrpublishing.com/forums/)
to speak with current authors and/or to leave questions for staff. We will be
hosting a chat to field your questions about the contest in July 2008 (exact
date TBD), starting at 8:30pm EST in the forum’s chat room. You must register on
the forums in order to enter our chat rooms.

*Contracts will be offered only if enough appropriate winners are found to
fill a whole anthology, as judged by the publisher. Should there not be enough
usable entries/winners, an announcement will be made, and the contest will be
closed without a book being released. Every effort will be made to release an
anthology, but we cannot guarantee this result because of the possibility of
insufficient appropriate entries.

offered our standard contract*, but they are under no obligation to accept it.
